Germany losing its Pole Position

According to international experts Germany could lose its leading position in the renewable energy market because of the new coalition consisting of CDU/CSU and FDP. These two parties are planning to "support past technologies with a watering can instead of saving future aspects" (like a German newspaper says).

Bjoern Stigson the leader of the experts says that Germany is at the moment global market leader, but this could be lost by standing still now instead of spending money for research.

Background information on CDU/CSU and FDP

The current coalition is pretty industry-friendly and therefore it probably has to support them. And since etablished industry has a lot more power than future industry, they can call for money louder.

CDU/CSU and FDP have promised tax cuts to the voters, but on the other hand they do not want to recude public spending. The FDP, always proposing their book for reduction of public spending the past few years, did not mention any reductions in the coalition. Moreover, they usually are against subventions, but now they even support help for the hotel industry.
