New coalition: Illegal earnings
The elections are over and the result is available: there will very probably be a coalition of CDU / CSU and FDP, but what does this have to do with illegal earnings - I mean apart from that many politicians work in the management board of companies and therefore are not really independant (but this is another story and not illegal in Germany).
No, it is rather a spelling mistake of a common name for this coalition type. Depending on the colours of the parties, there usually is a colloquial name for different possibilities.
The last coalition (CDU / CSU + SPD) was either called Große Koalition (grand coalition) or Schwarz-Rot (black-red). A coalition of CDU / CSU + the Greens and FDP would be called Jamaika-Koalition (Jamaica coalition) due to the colours of the flag. SPD + the Greens + FDP is called Ampel-Koalition (traffic lights coalition).
Now, the interesting part: The new coalition consisting of CDU / CSU and FDP is called - remember the colours of these parties? - Schwarz-Gelb (black-yellow). Some news papers have misspelled the word and instead wrote Schwarz-Geld which is another German word (actually we would write it without the hyphen, but this is not too important) meaning illegal earnings.
Nice one, ain't it?
