Information on the project
The objective of e-fellows.net is to foster talented students by offering the first online scholarships in Europe. Through these scholarships, e-fellows.net supports the highest qualified and talented university students by offering services and creating a unique network for their studies and career. e-fellows.net thus identifies the business and academic elite of tomorrow.
Tasks
At the beginning of 2011 I began working for the e-fellows.net GmbH & Co. KG. At first I completed some minor changes for the community, later I created a new version of the fund database allowing more comfortable searches for possible scholarships. The older version was not a appropriate competitor for the newly created Stipendienlotse by the Ministry of Education, so a new version had to be done.
At first a new database scheme had to be developed for the new scholarshoip database. The new scheme had to consider already existing data in other tables and fulfill rules of normalisation. I also created a migration script to copy all funds from the old database to the new scheme and retrieve foreign keys from already existing values. Another part of the implementation process was the Solr integration to establish a good search mechanism. Furthermore, there is a backend of the administration of scholarships and donators.
