Stefan Koch - web-developer

Service

Why should you hire me? Basically because I already gained a lot of experience in my short life and ship with all the things employers are interested in ;)

PHP

I have been programming PHP since 2004 and offering web-development as a service since 2008.

Python

For other applications concerning the internet, but apart from web-development I use Python (which I have been programming for a few years).

SVN

Working on different projects with other people together, I do of course know SVN and work with it each day. Therefore, you can just add me to your staff without having to explain how I can checkout work or commit my tasks.

Linux

As I use linux as my only operating system in everyday life as well as on my homeserver, you don’t have to be afraid that I could break your system if I gain root access for some tasks.

Zend Framework

A lot of modern web applications are developed with Zend Framework, because it makes development much faster and the application more robust. For freelancers it’s also pretty easy to get into existing projects if they follow a well known architecture and you can rely on the methods you already know instead of having to learn a totally new framework.

Symfony1

I also do know Symfony1 (not Symfony2 too well, though).

Smarty

Before jumping to the MVC pattern, I produced all my websites with Smarty. I still use it in one of my Zend Framework based projects.

Databases

I do not only know relational databases like MySQL, but also other architectures that can be helpful in web-development. In future more web-applications might probably be developed with document-stores like CouchDB or MongoDB as it’s much easier scalable and fits some modern applications pretty well. Apache Lucene is also pretty important on many websites, because it allows much more powerful searching than MySQL.
